Nomination Instructions for Texas A&M University Chapter of Sigma Xi Awards for Local Outstanding Math or Science Teacher Awards

The Texas A&M University Chapter of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society, accepts nominations for the Local Outstanding Science or Math Elementary, Middle and High School Awards annually from December 1 to February 13. The three recipients will be recognized and receive a plaque and $500 cash prize at the annual Sigma Xi Induction and Awards Banquet.

These awards are given to recognize local elementary and middle and high school science or math teachers for their respective contributions in fostering an interest in math or science in students.

Nominations should include the following:

  • Nomination letter (or self-nomination) listing the nominee’s significant accomplishments in the fields of science or math education
  • Resumes and letters of support are not required, but encouraged if available.*

Nominations are due by February 13, and may be submitted via email, campus mail, or U.S. mail to:
