Texas A&M Chapter of Sigma Xi Travel Award
Sigma Xi Student Travel Awards
New awards are available to reimburse Texas A&M University students for eligible domestic travel expenses to present original scientific research at a professional conference, meeting, or summit.
The Texas A&M Chapter of Sigma Xi is accepting applications for its Student Travel Awards through 5 pm on May 5, 2015. This deadline is for Texas A&M graduate and undergraduate students who will travel between July 1 and Dec. 31, 2015.
To be eligible for an award, applicants must:
- present their research results at a state, national, or international scientific meeting;
- be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program at Texas A&M’s College Station campus during the semester in which they apply for the award and attend the conference; and
- maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Graduate students must be active Sigma Xi members or associate members. Active members are defined as having participated in two or more Sigma Xi annual sponsored events—such as the Grand Challenges in Science Symposium or the Undergraduate Faculty Research Expo—during the two semesters leading to the travel period.
Undergraduates must be engaged in research in the laboratory of an active Sigma Xi member.
Students are limited to one travel award per academic fiscal year. Only domestic travel is eligible.
