2008 CAISE
CAISE Fellows Program
The CAISE Fellows Program aims to broaden
participation by and build capacity of professionals in informal science
education (ISE) who are from underrepresented groups and underrepresented
regions of the United States. The program is structured around mentoring and
networking events that inform participants about grant proposal writing, grant
administration, NSF and its ISE Program, and the development of innovative ISE
programs and services. In line with the vision and mission of CAISE, the Fellows
Program will recruit and select candidates across the sectors of ISE, thereby
creating professional cohorts with a broad diversity of strong
voices.
Preparing ISE professionals to write highly competitive NSF proposals is not the only objective of the CAISE Fellows Program. CAISE Fellows are supported with travel stipends to attend the biannual NSF ISE PI Summit, where they can network and learn from current PIs in the ISE field. In years when no ISE PI Summit is held, CAISE Fellows will participate in other CAISE professional development programs.
